Improve Housing Choices for Low-Income Families

Seasholtz Consulting works with organizations that seek to advance creative solutions to the affordable housing crisis facing many low-income families. We have worked with public housing agencies, state housing agencies, and nonprofits to develop and implement innovative programs that have enhanced the self-sufficiency of low-income families and increased housing choices. Our housing clients have included Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, Home Forward (formerly Housing Authority of Portland), Oregon Housing and Community Services, King County Housing Authority, Tacoma Housing Authority, and San Diego Housing Commission.

We have significant experience working with public housing agencies to develop and implement innovative Moving to Work (MTW) rent reform strategies that enhance the self-sufficiency of low-income families, increase housing choices, and allow for more efficient use of federal funds. MTW agencies have been authorized to reform the rent policies prescribed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order to better meet the needs of their local markets.
